Do you need a private GP appointment now?

Our male and female GPs can discuss any concerns you have about your health. You’ll have 25 minutes with your GP, who will take the time to thoroughly discuss your health concerns. They’ll also arrange any tests, scans or follow-up appointments and discuss their costs with you. Our Pharmacy is also available if you need to fill a prescription.

We’ll send you a letter detailing your appointment, and a copy will be sent to your NHS GP.

I have a question about private GP appointments

What conditions can I make a private GP appointment for?

If you're looking for a private GP in Kent, we can deal with any condition you would usually see your NHS GP about, including:

  • Abdominal aches and pains
  • Allergies
  • Back problems
  • Blood pressure
  • Bowel problems
  • Concerns about cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Digestive health
  • Earache, sore throat or swallowing problems
  • Eye problems
  • General aches and pains
  • General health concerns
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Joint pain and possible arthritis
  • Men’s health
  • Skin complaints, including cysts, acne and dermatitis
  • Sleep concerns
  • Stress or anxiety
  • Urinary problems
  • Women’s health

Our female GPs can also discuss HRT, osteoporosis and bone health, incontinence, family planning and menstrual health.

What do our private GP services not cover?

Exclusions to our private GP services include ante-natal, existing cancer diagnosis (though we can discuss health concerns not related to an existing cancer diagnosis) and children under 18 years of age. We also don’t offer:

  • 24-hour health cover or an emergency service
  • DVLA, visa or other specific medical checks
  • Travel vaccinations
  • Repeat prescriptions, other than where we’ve initiated treatment, or (exceptionally) in an emergency
  • Minor surgery
  • Ongoing monitoring of long-term conditions where the NHS might be a more appropriate provider
  • To be treated for a reaction to any prescribed medication (this would be deemed an emergency)
  • Providing routine sick notes for conditions we’re not treating
  • COVID-19 testing

Does making a private GP appointment affect my relationship with my NHS GP?

Booking a private GP appointment won’t affect the care you receive from your NHS GP, and you should stay registered with your local NHS practice in case of emergency.

What measures are in place to keep me safe during my private GP appointment?

We’re continuing to follow all Government regulations and coronavirus guidance and our consultation rooms have been set up to allow for social distancing. Your GP will be wearing personal protective equipment throughout your appointment and anti-bacterial handwash is available for you and your GP. Find out how we're keeping you safe.

How much does a private GP appointment cost?

A 25-minute appointment costs £95.

If you need an x-ray, these cost from £80. Our self-pay prices are available here.

Does my private GP appointment include follow-up tests, scans or appointments?

No; but your GP will explain if any follow-up is needed, what’s involved and how much it will cost.

I need to cancel my private GP appointment – how does this work?

You have the right to cancel your appointment, however any fees you’ve paid will be non-refundable. Please call us on 01580 363158 (9am-5pm Monday to Friday).

What’s included in my private GP appointment?

In addition to a consultation with the GP, your appointment may also include:

  • Writing a private prescription
  • Providing a referral to a Consultant
  • Recommending and referring you for additional tests, scans or x-rays

Does the private GP service deal with emergencies?

If you have an emergency medical situation, please contact your NHS GP, call NHS 111 or 999.
